October 2011 -
Nana always calls and asks the boys what they want to be for Halloween and then sends a wonderful package with their costume request and treats. The boys look forward to this every year! This year Lincoln wanted to be a Bleeding Grim Reaper and Zach wanted his Orange and Black tie to wear on game days (instead of a costume). We got some very cool spider lights to hang out front and some yummy treat bags! Thanks Nana and Papa Steve!

The Crazy Lady Race
September 22 - 24, 2011
My friend Suzie Ellett started way back in June recruiting people to join her in the Washington DC Ragnar Relay Race. This is a race of 200 miles across Maryland into DC. There are two vans that include 6 runners and 1 driver. Each runner runs her leg and then passes off to the next runner. Each runner has 3 legs to complete. Runners run day and night until the 200 miles are complete. Well - I agreeded and am so happy I did! This was just an amazing experience! Our team name was Mormons on the Run. I was runner 7 (the first runner from Van 2) and my three legs were: Leg 1 - 7.9 miles Very Hard; Leg 2 - 5 miles Mederate; Leg 3 - 2.2 miles Easy. This was an amazing experience and one I will never forget!

Cubanopolis 400
August 31, 2011
Our Cub Scout Pack held a Cubanopolis race. Each boy had to make their own car - Lincoln's looked like a Smart Car - HA! HA! The boys would begin their race and the families were their "Pit Crew". After completing Lap1 we had to wash their "windshields" AKA goggles. Lap 2 was time for a "Fill-Up" and the boys had to drink a glass of water. Lap 3 was a "Tire Change" and we had to take off our son's socks and shoes and turn the socks inside-out and then put the socks and shoes back on. It was lots of fun! Lincoln took 1st Place and won "100 Grand"!

Nana and Papa Steve's Visit
September 2 - 5, 2011
Nana and Papa Steve came for a visit! We LOVE visitors! We spent a day at the NC Museum of Natural History. We walked around and looked at NC State's campus. We took them to Bass Lake and showed them where we like to fish. We went to a baseball game and had lots of fun! We are always excited to have visits from our families!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame
September 5, 2011
Sean's former Viewmont football player Braden Schlehuber, who was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2008, is playing for the Mississippi Braves. He got in touch with us because his team was playing the Carolina Mudcats in a city very close to us. Braden gave us tickets and it was so fun to watch him play and spend the day at the ballfield. The boys were so excited with the baseballs and the bat Braden gave to them. It was a Blast!!
